We designed as a three-story space, each floor serving a distinct function. The first floor is dedicated to bakery & desserts, featuring a large round table for group customers and display events. The second floor offers all-day brunch & coffee, with high bar tables for individuals or couples. The third floor functions as a meeting room & office. The seating area is positioned on the right wing, while the left wing houses the kitchen and service area. The open kitchen concept allows customers to observe the pastry-making process, with strategic wall openings that let the aroma of freshly baked goods permeate the space.
The design emphasizes Concrete Maze & Grides, with structured lines extending from the folded steel staircase to the steel framework by the windows. Skylights and voids create dynamic lighting effects against board-formed concrete walls, adding texture and depth throughout the day. The material selection is meticulously curated, with both the dessert bar on the first floor and the beverage bar on the second floor featuring honed PSD dark Emperador marble, providing a semi-gloss, semi-matte finish. All appliances and refrigeration units are discreetly integrated beneath the counters for a clean, streamlined look.
The lighting design draws inspiration from pastries, creating a unique aesthetic. The LOGO MODULAR LAMP features brushed aluminum pieces arranged continuously across multiple levels, while the PENDANT LAMP—crafted from silk-wrapped metal—boasts an oversized scale and a triangular composition to enhance movement and balance within the high-ceilinged space. PATCHWORKS is a thoughtfully designed venue that seamlessly blends functionality, materials, and lighting into a memorable experience.
