The café is nestled in a row of four connected townhouses near the university area, resembling neighborhoods like Samyan, where creative energy converges Samyan Mitrtown. The shape and layout are deliberate—open and welcoming. An open-plan layout that we design offers flexibility: tables can be grouped or separated to suit different needs Near the windows, communal seating invites the daily rhythm of shared conversations and daily coffee rituals, especially among the younger crowd—friends meeting, ideas unfolding. Towards the back is a creative space, a gentle retreat for focused study or quiet reflection. We chose reclaimed wood and complemented by hand‑applied texture paint, using a spatula to create subtle horizontal lines across the walls. This gives the café a sense of vintage handcraft and character. The intentional use of these materials and detailed imperfect finishes whispers stories of authenticity—these scratches and uneven textures don’t detract. Inspired by decorating techniques like textured stripes and horizontal finishes, our texturing approach echoes the warmth and depth they bring to a space. This intention led us to embrace Wabi‑Sabi, a philosophy celebrating imperfection, texture, and the graceful passage of time. Rooted in Wabi-Sabi, situated by the university, valuing material texture and craftsmanship, prioritizing shared spaces, and seamlessly blending into the neighborhood. .
